Analysis contents flavour

The first thing you see in the route of the eye is a picture of Alexander Burke. I feel they have done this as she is a big R&B star as she was off X Factor and that is one of the most watched tv shows around. Also she is a fashion icon as people look up to her fashion as she is a celebrity and people want to be like and dress like her as she will have the latest fashion on. I feel by the audience seeing her first they will know there is an article about her so they will want to read about her. I feel this part of the page is more for the females. The next thing you see in the route of the eye is a picture of Chipmunk. They have put this next to Alexander burke because he is a different type of R&B singer and females will be attracted to him and males would prefer his music. I feel they have choose him because he is again another big R&B music icon for males. He also singers a different type of R&B so the readers will know it is about different things and just not of the same thing. The next thing you see in the title ‘CONTENTS’ this does not follow the conventions as it is normally the first thing you see so the audience know straight away that this is the contents. I feel the text they have use is good is because it is bold and does stand out, I feel it could have been a bit bigger as I feel this is the most important thing on the page and this means it needs to stand out the most. The colour that have used is blue. They used blue is bold and will attract the audience. Also I feel both genders like the colour blue which this will make both genders happy. The next thing you see in the route of the eye in the primary optical area is the list of what it features inside. This list mainly has just the music icons name and the page number next to it. This is good because it is then simple for the audience to under stand and they then know the other people in this magazine. This does not follow the conventions because they normally have a have a catchy and memorable phrase  so people then remember it and will want to read about it because they the title would not give to much away. Whereas on this contents page it just says who it is about not what it is or anything this may put some readers off.  It then goes down to a model who is fashionable and underneath this it says ‘good girl gone bad’ I feel this grabs the audience attention as people will want this style and will want to look like this model. The bad thing is that this person is not very famous and may not catch the audience attention this may put some readers off. I feel if it was a bigger celebrity then I would have worked better. Next in the route of the eye in the terminal area it is just explaining about how the artists changed her and also says the page number for ore information. In the 1^st and 3^rd hotspot they are on the images on the page. I feel they have put them there as it is unique to have images on the contents page so they will want this to stand out. In the 2^nd and 4^th hotspot they are aiming it on the feature list so the readers know what is inside and will wand to read it. The main colour scheme is blue and white. I feel this colour scheme makes the page look very boring, as the page is just white and I feel this makes it look plain and empty. I feel if they had more images or text on this page then it would not have been as plain. I feel they should have used more colours to make it stand out more and make it look more interesting.  The text they have used is all the same I feel this is to make it look more professional. I feel the text could have been bigger and bolder. For example the subtitles are not very big and I feel these are very important and need to be noticed. The language they use is trying to tease the readers to read the article. I feel this contents page did not do a good job and underneath each of the artists had to much information and wasn’t catchy enough. I feel this target market group was age between 14-20 I feel this because I don’t think the artists are aiming at young children. The genre of the magazine is R&B, it shows this by having to big R&B icons on the contents. The gender is both because there are artists for both genders.
