Analysis of contents

The first thing you see in the route of the eye is the word ‘contents’, this is because this is the name of the page so this would be the most important thing on the page. If the page does not have the contents the readers will not be sure if it was a contents page or not. The word ‘contents’ is in a very unique way. I feel this is so it attracts the audience more so they will think the magazine is unique the whole way through. This makes the magazine stand out from other competition in the market. The next you see in the route of the eye in the primary optical area it has the list of what features a re in the magazine. This is conventional for all content pages. This feature list is not very long and does not advertise many articles inside the magazine, this is un conventional thing. Underneath the feature list it has a list about fashion. I feel the reason they have a fashion list as people will want to know about the latest fashion and will want to dress like the celebrities and would want to like there life like there’s. The next thing you see in the route of the eye in the terminal area is a music icon. I feel the reason they have put her on the contents page is because the readers then know who the main article is going to be about. The pose she is doing is her laying on her back with her legs up I feel the reason t hey have done this is because males will then be attracted to her and will then what to read about her. The 1^st and 3^rd hotspots are aimed on the music icon, I feel this is because they want the audience to connect with her and this will attract more people. She is also a fashion icon so females will want to be like her. The 2^nd hotspot is aimed on the title contents this is because it is in a very unique style so it will be unique and will stand out from other competition in the market. It also makes the magazine look unique and interesting. The 4^th hotspot is on the fashion list this is because again this is unique as most music magazines only have a feature bit but this magazine also has a fashion part so the readers will be able to know about the latest fashion. This again will make it stand out form other competition.  The music icon is also an attractive and is wearing fashionable clothes and jewellery. I feel they have done this because females will then look up to her and would want to look like her such as her make up and hairstyle also the things she is wearing. The readers will also know that this magazine will have pieces about fashion so they can take tips and can dress like her.  I feel this will attract more readers as people will want to be like her and will look up her. The main colour scheme they have use is black, sliver and white. I feel this is because it makes it look very elegant and makes it look more mature. This will attract more people as this magazine colour scheme will stand out. The colours all work well together and make each colour stand out more. Also by using a dull colour as the back ground they dull it makes the image standout more. Having a large dominate image on a contents page is not conventional. I fell the reason they have done this is because it makes the magazine look unique and stand out from other competition in the in the market. The Text they have used is mainly black this is because it makes the writing stand out on the background. Except the title of the page is in white I feel this is because this then makes the title stand out the most which is what they are trying to do as it is the most important thing on the page. All the writing they have used is bold, this is so it stands out and the audience will notice. The type of language they have used in the feature list is normally catchy and memorable and short, this is so the audience will remember it and also if it has a catchy name they will then want to read about it this will make them have more readers.  They have not used a lot of text I feel by doing this will attract the audience as most people would not to stand and read it if there was an essay of writing but by  having short text this will attract there audience. I feel the age range is 14-20. I feel this is because this is when people are most obsessed with the way they look and t hey will always want to look good like celebrities. I feel it is aimed at both genders as most male and females would want to know about the latest R&B music and fashion. Also by attracting both genders makes a wider target market group which then will get more readers.
